THE THIRD MEETING OF WRITING IV CLASS  September,  28^th 2015

            Today was our third meeting in writing IV class. As usual we started our study at 08.00 o’clock. However, today was our unlucky day. Do you know why? Because the room that we usually use to study was used by other class and no one room that left for us. Then, our lecture suggested us to study in her room at IDB building. Because of we did not have another option so we agreed it.

            As we never thought before, apparently our lecture’s room was not big but it was comfortable because there was air-conditioner inside. After all of students had their seat, then we started our studied with the little late time. But never mind because the most important thing now was we can find the place for study.

            Next, about the topic that we were going to discuss today was Introduction to Literary Review or Summary and Criticism. At this meeting we would study about how to write a good assignment summary. Firstly our lecture explained us about the definition of Literary Review itself. The she gave us several methods which could be our guide to make a good assignment summary. The first method was we had to skin the text and found the subheading of each text. The second method was we had to determine what of text that we were dealing with. It was like the genre of the text. After that we need to highlight the important information from passage or text. Next, we wrote down the main point of each section. We also had to write the key points for the main topic include minor detail only if necessary. Then the last method was we did the process again and made changed as appropriate.

            After we understood the methods, then our lecture give us some texts and she asked us to summarize the text. Oh, although it was not the first time we did summary but we still felt difficult to do this. We felt difficult to find the meaning of each text. But we did not give up. We kept try until we got the point. It was about 5 minutes and finally we finished to summarize the first text. Next, our lecture asked us to show our assignment to her. One by one student checked their assignment. But when I check it oh that was very bad. There were many mistakes in my writing. Honestly I felt shy with myself. How come student in grade 5 did mistake as student in grade 3 did in her writing. Ohh I could not imagine. Fortunately, our lecture is kind person. She said that doing mistake in our writing was naturalness. Even lecture did it. We should not be discouraged with mistake that we did. We only need more practice to minimize the mistake that we ever did. Absolutely I agree with her.

            Because all of students still had problem with summary, as a result our lecture gave us some tasks regarding to Literary Review. So, we can practice write assignment summary to improve our writing skill. Thanks mom for your kindness, I hope I will best writer in the next time.
